Obituary for Olga (Diak) Osyf
Olga (Diak) Osyf, 86, of Windham, widow of Petro Osyf, died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT. She was born February 28, 1923 in Lipa, Ukraine the daughter of Stefan and Anna Diak. Mrs. Osyf was retired from the University of CT and was a member of St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, the Ukrainian National Home and the Ukrainian-American Youth Association. Her survivors include three sons: Julius Osyf and his wife Anna of Millis, MA, Myron Osyf and his wife Linda of Vernon, CT and Michael Osyf of Niantic; also a daughter, Maria Kloc and her husband Michael of Windham. She also leaves seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three brothers & sisters in Ukraine and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 7/28/09, at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT from 6 to 8 pm with a Panakhyda Service at 7:00 pm. A Panakhyda Service will be held at 9:30 am on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by a procession to St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Willimantic for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Stephen Leach and the staff of St. Joseph Living Center for the excellent care provided her and requests that, those who wish, make donations to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
