Olga Elenor Peloquin of Windham, CT, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the age of 94. Olga was born on October 25, 1928, to father Andrew Plesz and mother Sophie (Kosar) Plesz.
Olga was the youngest of 6 siblings and grew up in Willimantic, CT. A woman of great strength and resilience, Olga faced many challenges and adversities growing up. Despite these trials, she never lost her positive outlook on life, and was often heard saying "well, what are you gonna do."
In 1947, she married the late Lawrence Peloquin. She was employed at Electric Motive Manufacturing for many years. During such time, Olga and Larry had 2 boys - Robert and Mark. Olga worked at Eastern Connecticut State University as a Maintenance Supervisor, where she worked until her retirement in 1989. Olga always approached everything she did with dedication, passion, and commitment.
Olga admired flowers and was an avid lottery player. She loved to vacation in Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire, enjoyed time with family, including weekly visits to the East Brook Mall. Olga was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church and attended weekly mass.
Olga was deeply loved by her family, who cherish memories of her kind and caring nature. She is survived by her son Robert Peloquin and his wife Diane of Nashua, NH; son Mark Peloquin of Windham, CT; granddaughter Dawn Ghiorzi of Bedford, NH; grandson Justin M. Peloquin of Redlands, CA; grandson Corey J. Peloquin of Riverview, FL; and 8 great-grandchildren, and predeceased by her grandaughter Diana Howe of Hooksett, NH. and by her husband Lawrence Peloquin of Windham, CT.
A private church service and ceremony will be held for family and close relatives/friends on Friday, May 19, 2023. In lieu of flowers, people wishing to honor Olga's lifelong commitment to family and community can make donations to St. Jude’s Children Hospital (stjude.org) in loving memory of Olga Peloquin.
