Obituary for Olive DeMarchi
Olive (Van Haverbeke) DeMarchi, 93, of South Windham, beloved wife of the late Francis P. DeMarchi passed away peacefully at Douglas Manor, Windham on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Born in Willimantic on October 27, 1921, the third child of the late Peter and Marie-Leona (Paradis) Van Haverbeke.
Olive's interests included painting, ceramics, playing the organ, cooking, sewing, quilt making and gardening.
She is survived by four sons and their spouses, Robert and Ann (Carey) of East Hampton, Michael of South Windham, John and Ann-Marie (Mangano) of Willimantic and Peter of South Windham with whom she made her home. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Gerard and Alfred and sisters, Dora, Leona and Theresa. She leaves a brother Paul Peter and his wife Lily of Vermont and Anita Duprey and her husband Henry of Andover.
She leaves six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Douglas Manor for their kindness and gentle care.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 8/17/15, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
