Obituary for Patrick Moretti
Patrick “Pat” Moretti, 86, of Watertown passed away peacefully in Waterbury Hospital on June 16, 2020.

He was born on December 20, 1933 in Bronx, NY, the only child of Carlo Moretti and Caroline (Iuso) Vadas. Pat moved to CT at a young age where he was raised in Greenwich. After graduating from Greenwich High, Pat joined the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. Following Pat’s military service he used the GI Bill to attend the University of Connecticut. After graduation, Pat taught social studies at Naugatuck High School for 43 years, a dedicated and respected teacher. It was at Naugatuck High that Pat met Joyce Nizelski, the love of his life and wife of almost 55 years. Pat was a wonderful father and proud grandfather who loved having his family around him.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce (Nizelski) Moretti, his daughter, Tracy Moretti Torrejon (John Adamcewicz) of Willimantic, son Patrick Moretti of Watertown, son Christopher Moretti (Caroline) of Shelton and daughter Nancy Moretti Herold (Joseph Rubbo) of Waterbury, and Pedro Torrejon of Apex, NC. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Sam, Lucas, Pilar and Eva Torrejon, Jeremie, Matthieu and Julien Moretti, and Drew and James Herold. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Linda (Nizelski) Sweeney (Fran) of Niantic and two nieces, Kristy Sweeney and Courtney Everett (Wayne).

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday June 21, from 3 to 5PM at Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic. Graveside services will be held Monday June 22, at 10:30AM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 669 Platt Rd, Watertown. Due to the current crisis, all attending are required to wear face masks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Judes 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN. 38105 or to the Shriners Hospital for Children P.O. Box 863765 Orlando, FL. 32886.
