Obituary for Peter J. Kerensky
Peter J. Kerensky, 75, of Lebanon,CT, husband of Janis (Flury) Kerensky passed away Wednesday May 4, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He was the son of the late Peter J. and Margaret (Mullany) Kerensky.
Peter was born on January 9, 1947 in Fort Richardson, AK. He grew up in North Grosvenordale, CT. After graduating from Tourtelotte Memorial High School, he went on to graduate from Eastern Conn. State University with a degree in History. He worked for over 30 years for the State of Connecticut in the Departments of Welfare (Norwich) and Administrative Services (Hartford). He served for 6 years in the National Guard (248th Engr. Co., Willimantic, CT).
Peter enjoyed long walks in the woods with his family and dog, Annabelle. He was an avid reader and loved rock music. He had a stint as a volunteer DJ at UConn radio station. He enjoyed his summers at Alexander’s Lake kayaking and canoeing.
Besides his wife, Janis, he is survived by his daughter, Nicole Martinez, his granddaughter, Adriana Martinez, and son-in-law Luis Martinez of Tewksbury, MA. He was the oldest of eight children including: Virginia Kerensky, Marcia Coodley, Anne Lea, Bill Kerensky, and Meg Kerensky. Peter is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
