Obituary for Rachel Ouimette
Rachel Ouimette, 85, of Willimantic, husband of the late Therese (Boudreault) Ouimette passed away Monday February 3, 2020 at Backus Hospital. He was the son of the late Arthur and Medora (Fontaine) Ouimette.
Born on May 18, 1934 in Dixville, Quebec Canada, he moved to the United States in 1961 and lived in Willimantic, CT. He worked as a self-employed Carpenter and Builder until he retired at age 59. He loved spending time in Florida during the Winter months with the love of his life Therese. They were married for 63 years and family was very important to him.
He also loved to watch WWE (Smackdown) wrestling and Nascar.
He leaves his children, Carmen Ouimette (Harold) of North Windham, Daniel Ouimette (Susanne) of Willimantic, and Lisa OHara (Sean) of Chaplin; 7 grandchildren, David Medeiros (Heather), Angela Medeiros, Brian Ouimette, Nichole Davis (Mark), Heather Ouimette, Kreg OHara and Ryan OHara; 3 great grandchildren, Bianca Aponte, Aiden Medeiros and Julia Morrison along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He had 6 brothers Leonard (Antoinette), Albert (Laura), Martial (Edith), Andre (Cheryl, Linda), Lucien (Therese), Laurent (Carole) Ouimette and 5 sisters Lucille (Roger) Lafond, Maryjane (Arthur) Bissonnette, Cecile (Hector) Roy, Solange (Adrien) Gagnon, Georgette (Michael) Dubreuil.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday Feb 9, from 4 to 6PM at Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Feb 10, at 10AM at St. Mary Church 57 Valley St, Willimantic. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
