Obituary for Raymond A. Trainor
Raymond A. Trainor, 83, of Columbia, husband of the late Eugenia (Curol) Trainor, passed away Monday, 4/16/07, after a brief illness. He was born May 31, 1923 in Willimantic the son of Frank and Mary Trainor and lived there most of his life before moving to Columbia in 1967. Raymond worked at Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford as a Group Leader in Cutter Grind and as a drill specialist in the Equipment Development & Standardization Group, retiring in 1981. He served in the Navy during World War 2 and was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. in Willimantic. He was also a dedicated member of the Columbia Lions Club and an active member of the Beckish Senior Center. His survivors include two sons: Ralph and his wife, Mary Rose and Barry all of Columbia; a brother, Robert of Florida, a sister, Joyce Crosby of Mansfield, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Frank. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 4/19/07, at 10 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church in Lebanon. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday, from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
