Obituary for Rev. Edward John Frigault
Norwich -- The Reverend Edward F. Frigault, retired priest of the Diocese of Norwich, died Thursday, August 28, 2008, in Windham, Connecticut. He was 86. Father Frigault had served in several parishes in the northeastern region of the Diocese of Norwich, including St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Baltic from 1973 to 1986 and St. Joseph Church in Willimantic, where he served as Pastor from 1989 until he retired in 1997.  Father Frigault was born in Willimantic, Connecticut, May 1, 1922, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Frigault.  Father Frigault was a graduate of St. Thomas Seminary and St. Bonaventure Seminary.  Father Frigault was ordained to the priesthood on May 26, 1949 by Most Reverend Henry J. O’Brien, D.D., Archbishop of Hartford, at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph Cathedral, Hartford, Ct.   Father Frigault is survived by two brothers, Joseph Frigault of Vernon, Connecticut and Lieutenant Colonel Normand W. Frigault of Chester, Virginia.  He is also survived by the Silverio family who assisted him in his later years.  He is predeceased by his sister, Mrs. Blanche Frigault Mathieu of Wolcott, CT.   The Transfer of the Body to Saint Joseph Church in Willimantic, CT will take place at 4:00 p.m., Monday, September 1, 2008. Following that ceremony, his body will lie in state from 4:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at St. Joseph Church.  A Parish Mass will be celebrated for his repose on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Church.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Most Reverend Michael R. Cote, Bishop of Norwich on Tuesday, September 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph.  On the morning of the funeral, Father Frigault’s body will lie in state from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.  The homilist will be Monsignor Willis W. West.   Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Willimantic.  Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect Street in Willimantic is handling the arrangements.  Donations may be made in honor of Father Frigault to Saint Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT 06226,
