Obituary for Richard "Dick" G. Beaulieu
Richard G. “Dick” Beaulieu, 72, of Newport, NH and Columbia, CT, beloved husband of 52 years of Marlene (Carr) Beaulieu, died August 16, 2008 in Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH of complications from surgery, surrounded by his family. Dick was born June 17, 1936 in Willimantic, CT the son of the late Joseph G. and Lucy (Magliocco) Beaulieu. He was employed by Sturm Ruger & Co. for 20 years as service manager and 3 years as a consultant. Dick served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the Mercedes Benz Club of America, the Willimantic Gun Club, the Cheshire County Fish & Game Club, the CT Metropolitan Pistol League and the N.R.A. He had many hobbies, was an active outdoorsman and photographer. He enjoyed life to the fullest, indeed his greatest joy was his wife and family. Dick was truly the guiding light of his family. Besides his wife, his survivors include two daughters: Deborah Reynolds and her husband, Gary of Columbia and Denise Casey and her husband, Timothy of Hebron; a son, Christopher Beaulieu and his wife, Tracy of Bradford, NH; grandchildren: Amy, Danielle and Kimberly Reynolds, Rebecca, Timothy, Caleb and Joshua Casey, Felicia and Daniel Beaulieu. He also leaves a sister-in-law, JoAnn Sinnott and her husband, Richard of Davenport, Iowa and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two grandchildren, Christopher and Gabriel and his stepfather, Charles Ferris. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 8/22/08, at 11 a.m. in St. Columba Church, Route 66 Columbia, CT followed by burial in the West Street Cemetery Lake Rd. Columbia. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Friday, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
