Obituary for Robert Lawrence Hill, Sr.
Robert L. Hill, Sr., 72, beloved husband of Suzanne (Maheu) Hill, of Coventry, CT, died October 5, 2016 in Windham Hospital. He was born October 20, 1943 in Elmira, NY the son of Henry B. and Helen (VonDeck) Hill. Robert was retired from UCONN and later worked at the Mansfield Rehabilitation Center for 5 years. He was a member of the Elks and the Knights of Columbus. Besides his wife Suzanne, he is survived by two sons: David Hill and his wife Christine of Myrtle Beach, SC and Michael Hill of Coventry, CT. He also leaves several grandchildren: Randy Hill and his wife Sarah of Coventry, Courtney Jutras and her husband Jake of Newport News, VA, Amanda St.Peter and her husband Ethan of Coventry, CT, Ashley Vasquez of South Carolina, and Trisha Young of Putnam, CT. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, soon to be six and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his siblings: Jeff Hill and his wife Bethany of Arizona and Candace Legasse of Willimantic, CT and sisters-in-law: Linda Hill of Willimantic, CT and Donna Gagnon and her husband Fernand of Mansfield Center, CT. He was predeceased by his son Robert Hill, Jr. and brother William Hill, Sr. His family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, 10/8/16, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a Service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jonathan Ficara officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Windham Hospital, 112 Mansfield Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226.
