Obituary for Rose (Catalano) Ferreri
Rose Catalano Ferreri, was born April 30, 1910 to Sebastian and Maria Catalano in Westerly, RI. and shortly after moved to Willimantic.  Rose attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Windham High School.  She became a floral designer in Hartford and also worked part time in the family business, Catalano Florists.  In 1932 she married Samuel J. Ferreri and shortly after they bought and ran Curran’s Pharmacy in Willimantic.  Rose volunteered much of her free time for organizations like: Order Sons of Italy in America, Princess Yolanda Lodge, American Red Cross Motor Corp (WWII).  She was a corporator of Windham Community Memorial Hospital and she was a past president of St. Joseph’s Womans Club.  She also was a past president of Soroptimist International of Willimantic and a member of the Mansfield Senior Center.She was predeceased by her parents and husband Samuel, brothers Angelo, Anthony, Joseph and Russell Catalano, their wives, and a sister and niece, both named Virginia.  She leaves a son, C. John Ferreri and daughter-in-law, Susan Goodrich Ferreri of Mansfield; a grandson, Eric and his wife Stefanie and twin grandchildren, Annabelle and Ryan of Durham, North Carolina and three nephews, John and Michael Catalano of Florida and Charles Catalano of Norwich. She is also survived by two nieces: Ellen Ferreri Aversa, of Woodbridge, CT and Joan Ferreri of Westchester, NY.Calling hours at the Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic will be from  9:30 to 10:30 AM Friday December 26th.  This will be followed by a Mass at 11AM at St. Joseph Church 99 Jackson Street.  In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made in Rose’s name to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd, Windham, CT 06280.
