Obituary for Rose M. Limanni Ashley
Ashley, Rose M. (Limanni), 97, of Willimantic, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, January 28th at Arden Courts of Farmington, CT. Born February 16, 1915 to the former Angelina (Lidestri) and Frank Limanni of Willimantic, CT. Rose was the second child of seven children and was predeceased by her brothers; Samuel and Harry Limanni of Willimantic, CT and her sisters; Nancy Olson, Mary Luciani, Nina Limanni, and Susan Squier all of Willimantic, CT. Rose will be dearly missed by her; four nieces, a nephew, ten great-nieces and great-nephews, and her close friend; Josephine Koval of Columbia, CT. Rose attended both the Noble School and Windham High School. After various stints at: Arrow, Hart & Haigman and Colts manufacturing in Hartford, CT where she met her husband, the late Leonard Ashley, Rose was employed by John Hancock Insurance Co. of Bloomfield, CT from 1962 to her retirement in 1980. She then assisted her husband with their Dairy Fresh vending company in Elmwood, CT until his passing in 1984. Rose was a strong and proud communicant of both St. Brigid’s Church in Elmwood, CT and St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic, CT. In addition to her membership with Italian Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution in Willimantic she was active in aerobics with the McSweeney Senior Center in Willimantic. She most enjoyed shopping, taking day trips, and spending time with her family and friends. Rose was a very generous wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend. Family and friends were always in her thoughts and prayers. The family would like to thank Arden Courts of Farmington for their courteous and professional services over the past five years of Rose’s life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. in Willimantic, CT Friday, 2/1/13, at 2:00 p.m. followed by burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Club Rd. in Willimantic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT.
