Obituary for Sarah (Pellitier) Martineau
Sarah Martineau, of Willimantic, beloved wife of J. M. Raymond Martineau, to whom she would have been married for 62 years on January 27 of this year, died January 6, 2013 in the Mansfield Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Storrs, CT. She was born January 8, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama the daughter of Gabriel and Vita (Coronia) Pellitier. Sarah moved to the Willimantic area at a young age and resided there for the remainder of her life. She had been employed at the Electro-Motive Co., St. Mary’s School cafeteria and was a homemaker. Sarah was a devoted volunteer at the Immaculata Retreat House and Windham Hospital. She was the loving mother of Wayne R. Martineau and his wife Enes (Goiangos) Martineau and two grandchildren, Lindsay and James Martineau. She is also survived by two brothers, Gabriel Pellitier of Danielson and Joseph Pellitier of Willimantic, and a sister Margaret Millette of Willimantic, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, 1/9/13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 in St. Mary Church, Valley St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either  St. Mary Church, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226 or the Immaculata Retreat House, 289 Windham Rd. Willimantic, CT 06226.
