Obituary for Shirley Ann (Nadile) Holton
Shirley Ann (Nadile) Holton, 82, of Willimantic, CT, beloved wife of the late Richard Holton, Jr., returned to her heavenly home on Monday, July 30. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

She was a graduate of Windham High School in 1955. She married Gunnery Sgt. Richard Holton Jr. in 1956 and had three sons. Shirley worked at UCONN as a data recorder operator until she retired in 1979. She then worked for her husband as office manager in his accounting business.

Her hobbies were arts and crafts, sewing, gardening, decorating and baking.

She was very active in her community and church. She loved working with children and the elderly. She participated in and was a member of St. Joseph Woman’s Club, the Italian American Lodge, #267, V.F.W., and Willimantic Lions Club. She volunteered at St. Mary/St. Joseph School and St. Joseph Church in Willimantic.

She is survived by her sons; Thomas and his wife, Kimberly Wilson-Holton; Christopher and wife, Mary; and Richard III and wife, Tara. She leaves seven beloved grandchildren: Samantha, Ariel, Gabriela, Alejandra, Catalina, Connor and Brooke. She is also survived by several siblings and in-laws; Anthony Nadile, Charles Nadile and wife, Doris; sisters, Mary Burroughs and Rose Royal; sister-in-laws, Helen Nadile (Boston), Agnes Nadile (Kentucky) and June Nadile (Connecticut), and brother-in-law Andy Adamcik (Florida). She also leaves nieces and nephews.

The family would like to especially thank all those with Hospice that were so kind and gentle with Shirley, and her long-term care giver, Orisia K., who provided her companionship and support.

Family, friends, and others whose lives Shirley touched are invited to pay their respects at Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect Street, Willimantic, from 6 pm to 8 pm on Friday, August 3rd .Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 8/4/18,at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Jackson Street, Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.

Memorial donations for Shirley may be made to: the Senior Center of Willimantic, St. Mary / St. Joseph School of Willimantic, or the St. Joseph Church Renovation Fund of Willimantic.
