Obituary for Simonne R. Fogarty
Simonne Fogarty, 87 of Willimantic, wife of the late James Fogarty, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Regency Heights, Willimantic. She was born October 22, 1926 in Montreal, CA. She was the daughter of the late Acte and Marie (Boucher) Rondeau.Â
She was a lifelong resident of Willimantic. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at various local businesses including Electro Motive, Lizee Jewelers, Brand Travel, and ending with Semco Manufacturing. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Marys Church. As a devout Catholic, she was a member of the St. Anne’s Society, St. Mary’s Guild, and was always involved with many church endeavors.Â
She enjoyed painting and was a member of the Willimantic Paint and Pallet Club for numerous years. She also enjoyed playing the piano and singing.Â
She was a Godmother to many children and is survived by her goddaughter, Sandra Bailey, of Mansfield who has been her mainstay throughout the years and by many nieces and nephews both in Canada and locally. Sandy would like to thank the staff at Regency Heights for her care and support especially during these last few days.
There are no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held in St. Joseph’s Church on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. Mary’s Repair Fund, 80 Maple Avenue, Willimantic, CT 06226.
