Obituary for Stanley A. Viens
Stanley A. Viens, 78, of Willimantic, beloved husband of 59 years of Doris (Baillergeon) Viens, died Sunday, 9/24/06, in Willimantic. He was born July 1, 1928 in Thompson, CT the son of Arthur and Marjorie (Woodrow) Viens. He retired from Brand Rex as the manager of their Industrial Wire & Cable Division. He was with Brand Rex for over 30 years. He was also involved with the Willimantic Elks, where he became their Exalted Ruler in 1971, and later served as Secretary. His other civic activities included: President of the Industrial Management Club of Willimantic, Vice President of the Norwich Jaycees and Treasurer of the Willimantic Country Club. Besides his wife Doris, he leaves three daughters: Joan Marrotte and her husband, Mark, Jean Kelley and her husband, Robert, and Joy Viens and her husband, Paul Lariviere; his grandchildren: Eric, Scott, Chris, Stephanie and Theresa Marrotte, and Nicole Kelley Brooks; his great grandchildren: Sophia, Maryck, John, Brandan, Dilan, Christian and Jared; his two sisters: Barbara Bergeron and Evelyn Ambukewicz as well as several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be Thursday, 9/28/06, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham.
