Obituary for Theresa Agnes Mamunes
Teresa A. Mamunes of Storrs, Connecticut passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 17, 2010 with her family by her side after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Teresa was born October 14, 1925 in Willimantic, Connecticut, the daughter of William and Teresa (Radocha) Chobot. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony Mamunes, Sr. Teresa grew up in Gurleyville, Connecticut, and attended the University of Connecticut. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant at UCONN in both the Music and Education Departments until her retirement. Teresa is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Anthony Mamunes, Jr. and Nancy and their son Michael Anthony, all of Ellington, CT; her daughter Teresa Athena Mamunes and her children Christopher Anthony Beaudry and Alexandra Mamunes Beaudry all of Storrs, CT; and her son Christopher William Mamunes and his sons Anthony and Alexander all of Baltimore, Maryland. In addition to her children, she is survived by her loving and devoted nephews, Walter Niemasik, Jr., his wife Julie, and their sons James and Thomas of Menlo Park, California; Col. William J. Niemasik, USMC (Ret.) and his daughters Kaylee and Kerrie of Atlanta, Georgia; and Joseph and Kay Niemasik of Mansfield, CT. Teresa also leaves a very dear friend Barbara Waldron of Ashford, CT. Teresa was predeceased by her brothers William, Nicholas, Louis, and Frank Chobot and a sister, Helen Niemasik. Teresa’s children Tony, “Cookie”, and Chris would like to express their gratitude to their cousin Joe Niemasik whose help and importance in the daily care of their precious mother and his aunt “Tet” cannot be adequately expressed in words. There are no calling hours and a private funeral service will be held. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Philip the Apostle Church, Warrenville, CT where she was a lifelong parishioner.
