Obituary for Theresa E. Licata
Theresa E. Licata, 86, of Windham, CT, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Douglas Manor. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ellen (Kentile) Aubin. Theresa was born on July 23, 1934, in Putnam, CT. and lived most of her life in North Windham. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church where she sang in choir, served communion, read the Gospel at mass, taught catechism, belonged to the Women’s Club, worked in the kitchen at Bingo and helped in many other ways. She was a past president of the Princess Yolanda Lodge and participated in the Italian Lodge both locally and statewide. She worked at Windham Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide and a secretary for the Pediatrics floor.
Later on, she worked helping the elderly with home care. Theresa loved spending time with her friends. She especially enjoyed the times she would go to the Women’s Final Four with Laura, Tucker and Suzie. They would usually cause some type of commotion and always spent most of the time laughing.

She, also, leaves behind grandchildren Heather, Ashley, Stephanie, Marisa and Gregory. “Meme” or “our silly little Meme” could be found driving them around in her grey car taking them to the lake, to the Y for swim lessons, attending school events, and going to Dairy Queen. She had four great-grandchildren-- Gianna, Chloe, Jackson and Mila. In addition, she leaves nieces and nephews and many friends including Elizabeth Licata who has been her friend since childhood. The family wants to thank the staff at Douglas Manor for the care and compassion they gave to “Meme” over the years.
