Obituary for Theresa M. Moore
Theresa M. Moore, 82, of Willimantic, CT, passed into eternal life on September 30, 2009 in Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born May 30, 1927 in Willimantic the eldest daughter of Leon and Leona (Racine) Moore.
She was a custodian at the University of CT for 22 years. Previously, she was employed by the Electro-Motive Co. for 22 years. Theresa was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Willimantic where she volunteered at the parish bingo. She also volunteered at the Immaculata Retreat House for many years.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Rene Grenier of Willimantic; a brother and sister-in-law Roland and Rosemary Moore of Haines City, FL; two nephews: Paul Grenier of Willimantic and John Grenier and his wife, Maria of Scotland, CT, and one niece, Alaina O’Hara Cruz of Federal Way, WA. She also leaves three great nieces and one great nephew: Michelle Grenier of Bristol, VA Andrea, Lauren and Samuel Grenier of Scotland, CT and many cousins and friends from the local area and Canada.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10/3/09, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 9 p.m. and again Saturday, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Mary's Church Repair Fund, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226 or a charity of the donor's choice.
