Obituary for Walter Stefanyk
Walter Stefanyk, 63, of Willimantic passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday.
He was born in Germany on October 31, 1950, son of the late Wasyl and Katerina (Semerak) Stefanyk. Walt was a graduate of Windham Regional Vocational Technical School and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as an electrician for Cianbro Corporation for many years. Walt was an avid biker and car enthusiast.
Besides his many friends, he leaves behind his lifetime companion of over 30 years, Tricia Geiling, daughter Shani Lynn Stefanyk, grandson Armoni, and granddaughter Heaven, all of Clearwater, FL. He also leaves behind a sister Mary Steward and her husband Ed of Waterford, CT, and a brother John Stefanyk of Mauldin, SC. Uncle Walt will be missed by his nieces Angela and Erica, nephews Dennis and John and 4 great nephews and one great niece. Walt also leaves behind Sugar, his dog of 13 years, who was with him at the time of his passing.
A remembrance gathering will be held on Monday, December 16th from 4-6PM at Bacon Funeral Home , 71 Prospect St., Willimantic, CT. Mourners are welcome to bring pictures and stories to share.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Walt’s name to organizations of individual’s choosing.
