Obituary for Lorraine E. Bourey
Lorraine E. (Garceau) Bourey, 78, of Willimantic, widow of George J. Bourey, died Monday, 3/13/06, in Windham Hospital. She was born June 18, 1927 in Willimantic the daughter of Ovila and Rhea (LaJeunesse) Garceau. Lorraine co-owned and operated the College Shop in Willimantic for many years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Her survivors include a daughter, Pamela Costello and her husband, Frank of Clinton; three sisters: Agnes McTott and her husband, William of Florida, Lucille Depathy and her husband, Henry of Willimantic and Sister Bernadette Garceau of Old Saybrook; also a brother, Robert Garceau and his wife, Lois of Willimantic. She also leaves two grandchildren, Tyler and Katie Costello and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 3/16/06, at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday, from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
